John P. Walther, Barenbrug  Vice President of Turf Seed

Barenbrug USA has appointed John P. Walther as its new Vice President of Turf Seed, as of September 24th, 2001. "This completes the make-up of the Barenbrug USA management team, ready to implement our strategy to become a major player in all sectors of the grass seed industry" according to Roeland Kapsenberg, Barenbrug USA's President/CEO. 

Barenbrug USA is structured around the following sales divisions:
Consumer Products, headed by Alan H. Hirsch, 
Vice President; Turf Seeds headed by John P. Walther, 
Vice President; Forage Seeds headed by John H. Thyssen, 
Vice President; Export & Operations, headed by Marc Cool (COO).
 
John Walther brings to Barenbrug USA a broad experience in the professional turf market. John Walther was previously employed with UHS, a nation wide distributor of professional turf and ornamental products. John Walther began his career with UHS as their national fertilizer and seed Product Manager. Later John set up and headed the UHS Southern Division based in Texas and developed it into a major regional distributor of professional turf and ornamental products. In the past year John was employed by Becker-Underwood, a leading producer of specialty bio-agronomic and colorant products, as
Mid-South Territory Manager and National Accounts Manager.

With his appointment as VP Turf Seeds, John will be based at Barenbrug USA's headquarters in Tangent Oregon. From here, he will develop Barenbrug USA's professional turf program and direct the team of specialists that Barenbrug employs throughout the country.
