Intensiv is a new, very late maturing variety from Barenbrug. Intensiv is very winter-hardy and has excellent disease tolerance (fusarium and leaf spot) making it a very persistent variety. Intensiv has a very high leaf to stem ratio and the hay produced from Intensiv has very good digestibility. With very late heading and high dry matter yields, Intensiv is highly suited for planting with alfalfa in mixed stands.

Barlemas is a late-maturing, highly palatable orchardgrass. Barlemas produces a dense, leafy sward without the clumps of traditional orchardgrass. Barlemas is more winter-active which equates to earlier production in spring and later production in fall with proper placement. However, it lacks winterhardiness of less winter-active varieties such as Baridana. Barlemas is an excellent choice for the transition zone and milder areas in the lower midwest and northeast. Barlemas is drought tolerant and produces forage later into the summer. Barlemas exhibits exceptional rust resistance. It is well-suited for grazing and hay production. |
