Bartura Meadow Fescue |
Barenbrug
introduces Bartura Meadow Fescue. Bartura has currently been added to the recommended list of the
Atlantic Advisory Committee on Forage Crops and is registered through
Agriculture Canada. Bartura is of Hungarian origin, yields 107% of standard in Hungarian trials which proves
its excellent winter hardiness (which is confirmed in Canadian trials), making
it an excellent variety for Canada and the Northeastern United States.
Bartura shows a high yield,
10%-17% better than Mimer and Trader in Canadian trials, and a high level of
disease resistance.

Bartura
surpasses perennial ryegrass in summer production on good soils with better
winter-hardiness. Bartura
is excellent in mixes with Timothy or Alfalfa, since it is not as aggressive as
perennial ryegrass or orchardgrass.
