Creeping bentgrass has long, fine stolons which produce roots at every node, thus developing a dense sod. It is widely used for golf course putting greens, lawns, bowling and similar uses. Sunny areas with soils having high fertility, low acidity, good drainage and high water holding capacity are the best.
