Artillery (Bromus inermis) is an early maturing smooth brome that is rhizomatous and very productive. It is exceptionally drought tolerant and was selected in high stress condititons that included no-irrigation with low nitrogen input in the south central US. Artillery does well at 12-18 inches of precipitation. It is a southern type cultivar that performs well in colder temps of northern US.
