JF-209 Creeping Red Fescue

JF-209 creeping red fescue (Festuca rubra sp. rubra), available as uncertified seed, has a dark green color, fine leaf texture and good summer density. JF-209 is a high- quality, low maintenance choice for home lawns, parks and corporate landscapes. On golf courses, JF-209 is suitable for roughs and out of play areas.

JF-209 is an improved synthetic strong creeping red fescue adapted to perform on poor soils (soil pH from 4.5 to 8.0) and on areas where regular maintenance is not possible, such as embankments, deep roughs, and roadsides. Left un-mown, JF-209 will put up seedheads in spring and summer adding a natural prairie look to your landscape.
