Turf-Type Tall Fescue

  • High performance
  • Very fine leaf texture
  • High density
  • Less maintenance to look great than old tall fescue varieties
  • Beautiful, dark green color

Siesta turf‐type tall fescue (Experimental JF‐107) Festuca arundinacea is Jacklin’s newest notably fine‐textured, dense, dark green variety. The selected breeding traits of Siesta allow you to spend more time enjoying your yard than you would maintaining an old tall fescue variety — and genetically Siesta will look and feel much better with less effort. It’s Siesta time!

Beautiful dark green color and fine leaf texture produces a high performance turf and Siesta is able to thrive under diverse weather conditions.

Siesta has a wide range of uses, from golf course roughs to parks and home lawns. For permanent turf it performs best at 1 1/2” to 3” (37 to 75 mm), but is adapted to mowing heights as low as 1/2” (13 mm). Siesta performs well alone or in mixtures with Jacklin bluegrasses or fine fescues in temperate and transition zone climates.

Plant at 6‐10 lbs/1000 ft2 (30‐50 g/m2 ) for blends and straights. For sod production, mix 80‐90% Siesta with 10‐20% Jacklin elite Kentucky bluegrass to improve sod strength.
