  • Seeding Rate: 8-10 lbs./1,000 sq. ft.
  • Cool Overseeding Rate: 4-6 lbs./1,000 sq. ft

Planting Time

Planting can take place in either the spring or the fall. Bargold germinates at low temperatures so you can begin seeding in early spring and continue into the late fall provided the re is ample moisture available into the hot summer months.

Seed Bed Preparation

Verticutting and scalping of professional turf provides an excellent seed bed. Lawns and other areas may simply be closely mowed, seeded and harrowed for quick establishment.

Planting Method

Broadcast at the recommended rate depending on application.

Establishment

After spreading seed keep the seedbed moist throughout the germination process, with extra care during the early stages to prevent seed from drying out after initial seed imbibition. Germination should begin within 5 to 7 days and be complete within 14 days.

Maintenance

Heavily seeded perennial ryegrass requires an ample amount of water to survive due to shallow root systems.

Mowing Height

Performs best at 1½ to 2½ inches however it will tolerate mowing to 1/2 inch.
